STOMP is Citizen journalism?

The Singapore papers aka Straits Times recently did a feature on Citizen Journalism. It looks at blogs and other outlets whereby common folks, and not professional journos, report and post stories. Of course, the ST can't help to insert a healthy dosage of self-promotional coverage and featured their own STOMP website, which encourages people to send in stories, photos, and videos. Apparently, in the story, Cherian George was interviewed and it seems like the ST left out a major point brought up by George. Here's the major point.
Not surprisingly, though, ST left out one additional point I made: that I do not consider STOMP to be citizen journalism. The Review package celebrates STOMP as if it is the cutting edge of citizen journalism in Singapore.
ST is self-promotional and practicing real journalism? You decide.
