If you're not keen on the official Star Wars MMORPG called Galaxies, there's actually an alternative called Star Wars Combine. It's a free massively multiplayer online role-playing simulation game based on the Star Wars Universe. It's developed by amateurs and uses a top down view. And it's free, of course.
